Building a Legacy of
Equity and Empowerment
BRM is dedicated to balancing the interests of farmers, the protection of the environment and the need for profitability. Our vision extends beyond agriculture, aiming for a future where social equity, ecological responsibility and sustainable growth intersect. With this, we are shaping a resilient agricultural sector.
Farmers are at the heart of BRM.
BRM's unique model is to establish direct partnerships with farmers, and provide them with support, resources, and opportunities.
Our initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including No Poverty, Gender Equality, and Climate Action.

We aid and support our farmer-partners to optimize their farms and maximize their profits.
Seed & Input Supports
Providing high-quality seed, fertilizer and pesticide, and financing this input stack at a discounted rate. This increases yields while greatly reducing costs.

Training & Education
Offering workshops and hands-on training in modern farming techniques, soil management, and efficient harvesting methods. This further increases yields.

Prices
BRM gives farmers the choice of fixed-price or harvest-price contracts. They have control over their produce and earn fair profits.

Single-Mother Support
Assisting single mothers with child care, school fees, and meals - to empower women in agriculture.

Gender Empowerment
Presently the majority of BRM's smallholder farmers are women and the company targets 30% female hires in leadership roles. BRM also enforces a Gender Workplace Protection and Anti-Harassment Policy to ensure a safe working environment.

Higher Income, Better Lives
With financial suport and more scientific farming, increased yields and a double harvest, farmers' incomes have increased by multiples with BRM.

We adhere to sustainable farming practices that protect and regenerate the environment.
Traceability
BRM's system monitors all growing and processing inputs into its rice. This enables it to track down and eliminate undesirable chemicals, adhering to best eco-practices and maintaining quality standards for the US and European markets.
Reducing Green House Gasses
Alternate wetting and drying, laser land leveling and ground cover crops cut methane emissions and increase yields by 20-30%, while improving soil health. BRM is perfecting these practices on its reserve land and is introducing them across its farmer network.
Biofertilizers
BRM works with partners to replace chemical fertilizers with proprietary organic ones that improve soil health.
Biochar Integration
Rice husks are converted to biochar, enriching soil and reducing emissions.
Renewability from Rice Husks
BRM's drying systems use rice husks as a renewable energy source, lowering our carbon footprint. We are also exploring applications in building materials.
Solar-Powered Irrigation
Plans to replace diesel pumps with solar-powered systems will decrease emissions by reducing 150,000 litres of diesel each year, saving 400 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually.
Biodiversity Enhancement
BRM's canals were a huge addition to local acquaculture. The company maintains selected wetlands to protect bird habitats. It plants over 1,000 trees per year and targets 10,000 with its Regenerative Rice Project. It plants border cover around its fields as natural rodent repellent and legumes between crops to restore nitrogen.
Business Model
BRM's efficient, vertically-integrated operations have enabled it to achieve consistent growth.
By investing in advanced technology and partnering with local farmers, the company has created a sustainable business model.
Structural profitability has been achieved, in a manner inclusive of rural households. The balance sheet is very strong: debt has been avoided on asset investment, and is only used for finance of rice inventory.
The business can now be scaled, continuing to benefit all stakeholders. This process has been started with the call for a debt/equity package to underwrite mill expansion and working capital.
